Hello,

I'm sorry for leaving my message here, but I couldn't figure out how to contact you by e-mail. I stumbled upon your blog while searching the Stapp line of my family. I found the following excerpt about a Martha Liggett marrying a John Stapp of Howard Co. I have a Joseph Stapp in my family tree born around 1839/1840 in Howard Co. In the census I could find his name and bdate match as being the child of a John and Martha Stapp. I was wondering if you knew the children's names from the couple mentioned in Hiram's journal? Thank you so much! If you want to contact me, you can do so at kimariedee@aol.com

" Martha Liggett married John Stapp of Howard Co and raised a large family of children. They were bouth Christians and belonged to the Christian Church for many years before their deaths. John, was taken with a pain in the Thye, which was thought to be hollow swelling and after severall months of suffering, he was releaved from his suffering by death. He was taken from his wife and children in the prime of life, he lived as a christian and died as he had lived.
His wife Marth (Martha, FDL), lived many years after his death, lived to see all of her children raised and married (Except the youngest son). And died in the Spring of 1878. After having suffered for many months with a Cancer in her right breast, which eats the brest all away she expired after having suffered death many times She was a ture Christian; and had many feares that the Roman Catholicks would get the Reigns of this government, and distroy the Christian Religion; which gave her some trubble as she was a zealous Christian and died in the tryumps of Faith (Will not give the names of their children as several are ded.)"
